With cutting-edge anti-missile systems and two new submarines that can carry nuclear weapons, Israel is readying a new generation of armaments designed to defend itself against distant Iran as well as Tehran's proxy armies on its borders.

The only way Israel can exist in peace is to use such overwhelming, devastating force on its enemies that they won't be able to attack again for 100 years. The Israelis are counterpunchers, as they are historically incapable of preemption. This means they must wait for their enemies to start the next big war. Then they must incinerate all of the Hezbollah territory in southern Lebanon with massive Napalm bombardment, obliterate Iran with massive thermonuclear bombardment, and simultaneously force all the Palestinians out in a Trail of Tears like migration to Jordan and northern Lebanon. All the Palestinian hovels and villages will need to be plowed down to flat and level sand.

Mindless insanity in this AP story is terrifying. Sure, it's obviously the customary war propaganda for the benefit of domestic Israeli politics. However, the question is … why hasn't Israel already attacked Iran's nuclear facilities and military?
Probably because both China and Russia have huge multi-billion dollar long-term energy investments partnerships with Iran. I'm sure that even the toughest hawks in Israel realize that a military attack on Iran would be responded to as a major economic attack both China and Russia.
First Israeli strike on Iran would lead to a massive economically crippling increase in the global price of oil within hours.
And besides that, Israel has no no long range bombers. It's F-15 and F-16 aircraft would need to refuel over Iraq at least twice for any conventional bombing mission to Iran and back. Even the Bush administration refused to allow this.
Forget about Israeli submarines with nuclear missiles. That's just World War 3 neocon madness. US, China or Russia would stop that for obvious self-interests.
