Top lawmakers sparred Sunday over the timing of President Barack Obama's decision on how to move ahead in Afghanistan, with Republicans urging a quick move to boost troop levels and Democrats counseling patience.

Why didn't any interviewers of the Republican voices over the weekend challenge them to levy a tax to pay for the troop increase that they are proposing? They seem to believe that the USA can wage war anywhere in the world for the most trivial reasons without it costing. Unfortunately, the Republican stragtegy of passing on the war debt to future generations (5 more trillion $ under George Bush and Cheney) is acceptable. Of course, when it comes to health care, such a deferred payment strategy is not acceptable. Their slogan should be "Play War as you go" but I say "Pay as you go to war".
