To describe military 'successes' as 'progress' is to contradict the name of your website. It is also likely to be wrong and so amounts to little more than repeating propaganda.

The Pakistani government is notoriously corrupt with almost no support outside of main centres of middle class influence (where I suspect polls are taken). Some villagers have reacted against so-called Taliban but they retain solid support, since they are drawn from the population and express their values, even if some go too far at times. The Pakistani army goes much further in alienating people with its typically brutal and inefficient operations, designed more to placate masters than to achieve 'progress'. It is a totally futile war that will add to hatred of the west and cause suffering to millions.
