NEW DELHI, Jan 27 (Reuters) - India's Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee arrives in Colombo on Tuesday to discuss the safety of some 230,000 Tamil civilians caught in the end-game of Sri Lanka's 25-year-old civil war. The government faces pressure to protect Tamils, who are closely linked to about 60 million Tamils in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu across a narrow strait from Sri Lanka, an issue all the more sensitive ahead of general elections in May.
